RestOrTrain now has its own indoor workout player
By Antoni
We are happy to share that RestOrTrain now has a built-in indoor workout player. You can ride the workouts RestOrTrain plans for you on your smart trainer, in the app. It works on iPhone and Android. It is free for everyone.
Until now, riding a planned workout indoors meant sending it to another app or your bike computer first. Now you open a cycling workout with power targets in your calendar and tap the Start on indoor trainer button. The app puts your trainer in ERG mode at the target power of each interval, so you do not need to shift.

During the ride
Tap minus or plus to make every remaining interval 1% easier or harder. The buttons between them pause the ride or jump to the previous or next interval.
If you would rather shift gears yourself, tap the small ERG button next to the target power to turn it off. It stays off until you turn it back on.
When you save, the ride goes into your calendar, and you can ask in the chat how each interval went.
What we left out
We kept the player plain. There is no virtual world and no group ride; Zwift does both well. There is no workout library either: you ride the workouts RestOrTrain plans for you. If you slept badly and have intervals planned, ask RestOrTrain in the chat to make the workout easier before you start.
We would love to hear how your first ride goes.
Frequently asked questions
Is the player free?
Yes, for every RestOrTrain account. In the chat, a few questions a month are free. Pro is $14.99 a month or $134.99 a year in the US, priced locally elsewhere.
Can I ride a workout I made myself?
Ask RestOrTrain for it in the chat, for example 5 x 3 minutes at 350 W, and the workout appears in your calendar.
