Why we built an AI coach, not just another dashboard

We are three cyclists from Kraków, Poland. Like most everyday riders, we wanted a superb cycling tool - one that is truly personal, available every hour of every day, and finally able to make sense of everything about our training that had always gone unexplained. So we built it.

For twenty years, fitness software just handed you numbers and left all the thinking to you. Traditional apps look at millions of riders, but they never truly understand you. Artificial intelligence changed that. Software can finally read and understand your entire athletic history - every ride, run, sleep log, recovery score, and the personal notes you write to yourself. And now, it can actually talk with you about it.

RestOrTrain plans each training session for the exact rider you are today and sends it directly to your Garmin, Wahoo, or smartwatch. When your busy life gets in the way of your schedule, you just tell the app, and your training plan automatically adjusts to your remaining free time.

If you only get five hours of sleep, the app already knows. It won't pretend you are perfectly rested. Instead, it will suggest moving your hard interval session to Thursday. The final decision is always yours.

One honest thing

We did not build the core artificial intelligence from scratch. Like almost every AI company today, we customize existing, world-class AI models.

What we actually built is the cycling expertise and software around it. We created the system that safely pulls your data together from fitness platforms that usually do not agree with each other. We built the logic that decides exactly when the coach should give you advice. And we developed the technology that instantly turns a simple conversational phrase like "keep today easy" into a real, structured workout file on your GPS device.

Independent and privacy-first

We were the first three users of RestOrTrain, and we still ride with it every single day - so whatever annoys us gets fixed first. There is no massive corporation behind us and no venture capital investors; the athletes who use the app are the ones who fund it.

Because we answer only to you, there are no annoying ads, nobody sells your data, and the AI never trains itself on your personal information. Under European Union (EU) privacy laws, you can delete all of your data permanently whenever you want.
