How to create custom workouts for MyWhoosh with AI

By the RestOrTrain team

You can generate a cycling workout in RestOrTrain and send it to MyWhoosh through Intervals.icu. Connect both apps to the same Intervals.icu account, schedule the session, and open it in the MyWhoosh calendar.

We build RestOrTrain, the coaching app in that route. It can use your connected training history and the time you have available to create a session. Intervals.icu passes the scheduled workout to MyWhoosh, where you ride it.

You do not need RestOrTrain if you already know the workout you want. You can build it yourself in Intervals.icu or use MyWhoosh's own workout builder. We checked the documentation and our workout-sync code for this guide; we have not checked a RestOrTrain workout inside MyWhoosh or ridden it.

From a request to a workout on your calendar

Suppose you planned an hour on the trainer, but now have forty minutes before work. You want a session that fits the shorter morning and the riding you have already done this week.

You could ask RestOrTrain:

I have 40 minutes for MyWhoosh today. Look at my recent training and create a cycling workout that fits my week. Include a warm-up, recovery between efforts and a cool-down. Use power targets and schedule it for today.

Check the workout card and the scheduled date. A suggestion in a chat still needs to become a scheduled workout before the calendar connection can carry it. If the coach offers a session without scheduling it, ask it to add the workout to your plan.

The route is:

RestOrTrain plan → Intervals.icu calendar → MyWhoosh calendar

This is an indirect connection. You connect Intervals.icu inside RestOrTrain; you connect MyWhoosh to Intervals.icu separately.

Connect RestOrTrain to Intervals.icu

In RestOrTrain, open Settings > Data Sync and choose Intervals.icu. Sign in to the Intervals.icu account you want to use and approve the connection, including permission to write workouts to your calendar. Keep Send workouts enabled. The connection can also import activities and wellness data into RestOrTrain. Read the requested permissions and review your sync settings.

After scheduling a workout, open your Intervals.icu calendar on that date. Check that the session is there and that its preview contains the expected blocks and power targets. Do this before looking for it in MyWhoosh: it tells you whether the first connection worked.

Connect MyWhoosh to the same account

MyWhoosh documents account linking on its partner connections help page:

  1. Sign in on the MyWhoosh website and open your profile.
  2. Open Connections and select Connect under Intervals.icu.
  3. Sign in to the same Intervals.icu account you connected to RestOrTrain and authorize MyWhoosh.
  4. Return to MyWhoosh. Its help page says a successful connection changes the button from Connect to Disconnect.

MyWhoosh confirms Intervals.icu workout syncing in the 5.2.0 section of its release notes. Open the calendar in the MyWhoosh app you ride with and select the scheduled session. Check its duration, efforts and recovery blocks before starting.

Use a workout scheduled for today to check your setup. We have not verified how quickly sessions appear or how far ahead MyWhoosh displays them. Do not use a missing future session alone to judge whether the connection works.

If the workout is missing or the watts look wrong

Start with the Intervals.icu calendar. If the workout is missing there, check its date in RestOrTrain, the connected account and the Send workouts setting. The Intervals.icu connection must also have permission to write to your calendar.

If the workout is in Intervals.icu but missing from MyWhoosh, check the account linked under MyWhoosh's Connections. Look in the riding app's calendar. A rider reported in September 2026 that a synced workout appeared in the Windows riding app but not in the MyWhoosh Link companion app. If the date and accounts are correct but the session is still missing, contact MyWhoosh support with screenshots of both calendars.

If the watts differ, compare your FTP settings in RestOrTrain, Intervals.icu and MyWhoosh. FTP is the reference power used to calculate percentage-based targets. A rider in the integration discussion reported that the mismatch cleared after MyWhoosh updated its FTP value.

There is also a limitation in RestOrTrain's Intervals.icu connection: Intervals.icu uses its own zone settings and target rules. For example, a recovery block labelled Z1 can arrive with different watts from the ones RestOrTrain intended. Compare the previews, including the easy blocks. If they differ, do not start the mismatched workout. For a session you need today, recreate the intended blocks in MyWhoosh's own builder below, then check the new workout's preview.

Create the workout yourself in MyWhoosh

If you want to choose every block yourself, open the MyWhoosh Workout Builder. MyWhoosh's builder guide explains how to add intervals and adjust their duration, power and cadence.

When it is ready, choose Export to MyWhoosh. The guide says it will appear under Workout > MyWorkout in the app. This is a different destination from the calendar used by the Intervals.icu route.

For other indoor apps and bike computers, see our guide to sending planned workouts. To ride the session without another app, RestOrTrain has its own indoor workout player.

Frequently asked questions

Can AI generate custom workouts for MyWhoosh?

Yes. RestOrTrain can create a cycling workout from your connected training history and available time. Schedule it in your plan, then use Intervals.icu to get it onto the MyWhoosh calendar. Check the workout preview before riding.

Can RestOrTrain send workouts directly to MyWhoosh?

The connection is through Intervals.icu. Connect Intervals.icu inside RestOrTrain and enable Send workouts. Then connect MyWhoosh to the same Intervals.icu account on the MyWhoosh website.

Where do I find workouts synced from Intervals.icu?

Look on the scheduled date in the calendar of the MyWhoosh app you ride with. A workout saved only in a library needs to be scheduled first. Workouts exported from MyWhoosh's own web builder instead appear under Workout > MyWorkout.

Do I need RestOrTrain to create custom workouts for MyWhoosh?

No. You can build and schedule your own workout in Intervals.icu, or use MyWhoosh's web workout builder. RestOrTrain is an option if you want a coach to create the session from your training history and the time you have available.
